A talented artist on Greater Than Collective, Esme Patterson released her first solo album, All Princes, I, in November (click to get a copy). Yesterday she released her first video off the album for the song “My Young Man,” shot along the foothills and between and above the peaks of the Colorado Rocky Mountains by Colorado filmmaker/photographer Rett Rogers. Parts of the video were shot in a hot air balloon, and the video has a fittingly ethereal, floating quality.

Rett Rogers is a photographer and filmmaker based in Denver Colorado. His inspiration in cinema is rooted in the poetic realm of the avant-garde, with filmmakers such as Stan Brakhage, Maya Deren, and his mentor and friend Phil Solomon.

Patterson just returned from a tour with the Portland writer/musician whom NPR said creates “the kind of world that invites you to linger and, while you’re there, wonder at the mysterious beauty of it all,” Nick Jaina. The pair played stops in Oregon and Washington.
